David J. Harrell, Master Ranked holder in 2 empty handed Martial Art systems Taekwondo and Hapkido, is the UK Representative for Mugai Ryu Iaihyodo Study Group as recognized by the Suimo-kai in Japan, the organization continuing the tradition of Mugai Ryu under the leadership of Niina Gosoke, Meishi-ha Soke of Mugai Ryu Iaihyodo.

The Highland Ronins Budokai Dojo Scotland serves as an official European Meishi Branch of the Mugairyu Iaihyodo Federation. The Federation is an extension of the Suimo-kai, an organization in Japan dedicated to the preservation of Mugairyu. Members of the Society’s study group are registered with both the Suimo-kai and the Federation as legitimate Mugairyu practitioners. The Study Group currently meets twice a week.
